YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE AN

MMA FIGHTER TO TRAIN LIKE ONE.

Get the benefits of a fighter’s workout and learn all of the same
techniques without stepping one foot into the cage.

The televised Ultimate Fighting Championship, (UFC) has given us a great look at boxers, kick-boxers, and wrestlers and how they stay in such great shape. Now you can experience the same type of training in our Adult Mixed Martial Arts program. You’ll train like a UFC fighter without having to step into the cage and get hurt! Classes consist of training in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Knife and Gun Defense and most important: Realistic and Dynamic self-defense training.

My son has been taking classes at Family Martial Arts for two years. I’ve been watching through the window dazzled by the talents of Sifu Rick and his outstanding staff. I was surprised at my strong desire to participate instead of just watching through the window. However, I was pregnant and unable to. After having my daughter and receiving clearance from my physical therapist to participate, I joined the adult MMA class. I have never done sports that involved actual physical contact, and I was intimidated. Sifu Rick and the other students made me feel very comfortable working at my own pace. If I am uncomfortable with any of the moves, they offer me an alternative. I think I am a better parent because of all the stress that I get to work off on the mat, and I’m starting to lose the stubborn baby weight. I’m challenged physically and mentally which keeps it interesting, and I never once look at the clock to see how much time is left. I feel empowered by the skills I am learning and safer knowing I can better protect myself and my family. This class is the most fun I have had in years! I’m so glad I stepped out from behind the window and onto the mat.

Whether you're interested in self-defense, learning the principles and techniques professional fighters use, or just getting and staying fit, I think this class has a lot to offer. I come away from class feeling great. I have just gotten a good workout - sometimes a great one - and I learn something valuable just about every class period. Class is conducted a safe manner. It is understood that we are there to better ourselves, not to cause injury. Compared to the Karate I have taken, this is so much more relevant to real self-defense.

This special program includes:

Physical Conditioning
Unlike many other types of workouts or fitness programs, our program includes all three aspects of physical conditioning:

Muscular Development tones and builds muscle strength while improving your appearance and decreasing body fat.

Cardiovascular Conditioning strengthens your heart and lungs while increasing your daily energy level and burning calories.

Flexibility reduces the chance of injury and keeps you feeling young and agile.

The Secret to Consistency...
Most of us have tried just about everything to improve our physical condition. However, if your workouts aren’t fun, you won’t stick with them, and then…No Results!
You could play a sport – You might enjoy it more and get some results, but sports don’t always give you all of the results you are looking for. That’s what makes our three-dimensional workout different.

1. Total body results. Just look below!
2. Fun, Fun, Fun – You’ll look forward to your classes!
3. Self-defense – An important Life Skill that you’ll carry with you everywhere!

Self-Defense
The mixed martial arts approach combines the proven effective arts of boxing, Muay Thai kickboxing, and submission grappling together, in order to provide the most
effective means of self-defense in realistic situations.

Boxing – teaches you how to throw simple and effective punching combinations using every ounce of your bodyweight if desired. You will develop a toolbox of very empowering techniques and combinations. You will also learn proven methods for defending against someone trying to hit you.

Kickboxing – incorporates the most effective hand, knee, elbow, and foot techniques with an intense cardio workout. This method of defense enables you to protect yourself in stand-up confrontations before an attacker gets close enough to physically grab you.

Submission Grappling – teaches you how to escape holds and grabs using techniques such as throws, joint locks and submission. These defenses are most useful in close-range altercations and situations that end up on the ground. The grappling portion of the program is OPTIONAL and you can focus on stand-up skills if you like.

Stress Relief
Most Americans want book a vacation when they want to relieve tension. The problem is, relieving tension just once or twice a year is not enough. You need release stress just as often as it is built up, which is constantly…every week. That’s why a program like this is so popular with men and women who want to relieve stress from their lives. Our workout burns off excess energy, built-up tension and promotes a sense of calm. Each class becomes a mini-vacation. You leave feeling relaxed,
rejuvenated and better able to deal with the challenges of a new day.
