LITTLE DRAGONS (AGES 3-5)
Teaching children who are 3 to 5 years old requires special skills and a specialized curriculum. Every day is an adventure to them and the groundwork is being laid for a lifetime of learning and essential habits. Helping them to build a strong foundation of skills such as focus, control, balance, teamwork, coordination, respect, and self-control is what we focus on in our Little Dragons program.
This program was specially designed for children within this age range. Our curriculum and approach to teaching is based on scientific and psychological facts regarding this age group, and our goal is to meet each child where they are as we lead, inspire, and challenge them towards growth through our martial arts program.
They will develop gross motor skills, behavior development, and character development. We utilize age-specific exercises, games, activities, and drills that complement their stage of development. Through fun martial arts skills and drills, the children learn valuable life skills without the “boredom” which many associate with education.
We work with the children in an atmosphere which reinforces good discipline, displaying confidence, and maintaining a positive attitude. While we do not require much in the way of technical martial arts skills since this age group is mostly capable of gross motor learning, they will be laying the groundwork for more advanced skills when they move up to the Little Ninjas level. This is important to remember if from time to time it does not seem like the children are learning a lot of “martial arts” moves.
Here is a brief list of what your child will learn:
